You should know by now that I’m on a big cold foam kick. There’s nothing better than turning your life sustaining afternoon iced coffee/caffeine addiction into a little treat by adding a fun flavored cold foam. Strawberry cold foam is especially delightful—it’s creamy, slightly tangy, and adds a beautiful pink hue to your drink. While I’m more of an iced coffee or bust kid of person, this cold foam has me venturing out more…an iced latte, cold brew, matcha, or even a glass of milk tea are perfect with this pretty cold foam!

Best of all? You only need a few ingredients, and it takes less than five minutes to whip up. While I love a good Torani Syrup (check out my Toasted Marshmallow Cold Foam recipe, there’s no substitute for the Toasted Marshmallow syrup there), this recipe is a little different. It relies on a vanilla syrup for a bit of sweetness, but then packs a flavor punch with freeze dried strawberries as the main ingredient.

Ingredients for Strawberry Cold Foam

You’ll need:

  • 2 tbsp whole milk
  • 2 tbsp half and half or heavy cream (use cream for a richer texture)
  • 1 tsp vanilla Torani syrup (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp finely ground freeze-dried strawberries (make sure they’re powdered for a smooth foam)

Freeze-dried strawberries are the star of this recipe—they give a strong, natural strawberry flavor without adding moisture, so your foam stays fluffy and light.

How to Make It

  1. Grind your strawberries (if needed):
If your freeze-dried strawberries aren’t already in powder form, blend or crush them until they resemble a fine dust. You don’t want any chunks. I use this coffee grinder for this and it works great!
  2. Combine ingredients:
In a small mixing cup or frother, add the milk, half and half or cream, vanilla syrup, and strawberry powder.
  3. Froth it up:
Use a handheld milk frother, electric frother (I swear by this one), or blender to whip everything together until it thickens and becomes airy. This usually takes about 20–30 seconds. You’re looking for a texture that’s pourable but holds a soft peak.
  4. Top your drink:
Pour or spoon the strawberry cold foam over your iced coffee, matcha, milk tea, or cold brew. It floats beautifully and slowly mixes into your drink for a smooth, creamy experience.

Pro Tips

  • Customize sweetness: Add more or less vanilla syrup depending on your taste and what kind of drink you’re topping.
  • Try other flavors: Swap out the strawberry for freeze-dried raspberries or blueberries for a twist.
  • Use a French press: Don’t have a frother? Pour the mix into a French press and pump the plunger up and down vigorously until the foam forms.

Perfect Pairings

This strawberry cold foam is especially dreamy over:

  • Iced matcha lattes
  • Cold brew with a splash of vanilla or chocolate syrup
  • Strawberry or berry-infused iced teas
  • Even plain iced milk for a kid-friendly treat!

Making strawberry cold foam at home is a fun and easy way to add café-style flair to your drinks. With just a few pantry-friendly ingredients and a quick froth, you’ll have a velvety topping that tastes as good as it looks. Try it once, and you’ll want to keep a jar of freeze-dried strawberries on hand at all times!
