How to Make Eggnog Cold Foam at Home (Quick & Festive!)

Eggnog season is one of my favorite seasons of the year. If you’re one of those people who likes to make your own eggnog at home, good for you. But for me, the moment that I spy the first container of eggnog in the store (As a true Midwesterner, Kwik Trip is the superior eggnog), it’s a moment of joy. I couldn’t possibly deprive myself of that joy by making it at home, so instead I load up on all the nog I can find for the duration of the season. And then I put that eggnog in everything I can, all season. It’s pure bliss. If you love holiday coffee drinks and are a fellow eggnog enthusiast, this Eggnog Cold Foam is about to become your new December obsession. It’s creamy, cozy, lightly spiced, and adds the perfect festive touch to iced coffee, cold brew, chai, or even hot lattes. Basically you can drink it in anything, all season long!
This recipe comes together in under 30 seconds and tastes like Christmas in a cup. It is pure love.
How to Make Eggnog Cold Foam
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup eggnog
- 2 tablespoons milk (any milk works; whole milk or 2% foam best)
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla syrup (store bought or homemade)
- Optional: pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon
Instructions
- Add ingredients to a frother
Pour the eggnog, milk, vanilla syrup, and spice (if using) into a handheld or electric frother. Normally, I am the biggest advocate for this frother, but honestly, for this foam, you can use a handheld or electric. - Froth until thick and foamy
Froth on “cold foam” setting or for about 20–30 seconds until the mixture becomes creamy, airy, and doubled in volume. - Serve on your favorite drink
Pour the foam over iced coffee, cold brew, hot coffee, chai, or even hot chocolate. - Finish with a sprinkle
Add a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon on top for extra holiday flavor.
Best Drinks to Pair with Eggnog Cold Foam
This festive foam is perfect on:
- Iced coffee or cold brew
- Vanilla iced lattes
- Chai lattes
- Peppermint mochas
- Hot chocolate
- Maple or toasted marshmallow lattes

It brings that creamy, gently spiced eggnog sweetness without overwhelming the drink—just perfect.
Tips for the Perfect Foam
- Use cold ingredients for the best froth.
- Add more milk if you want lighter, fluffier foam.
- Use less milk for a denser, thicker topping.
- Swap vanilla syrup for brown sugar syrup for a deeper holiday flavor.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top for some added sweetness.

With just a few simple ingredients and a quick froth, you’ve got a cozy, creamy topping that pairs with so many things. Perfect for snowy mornings, holiday gatherings, or anytime you want a little Christmas cheer in your cup (and can find eggnog in the store).
