Cool and Refreshing: How to Make Refreshing Chocolate Mint Iced Coffee at Home (With Mint Cold Foam!)

Nothing screams simple indulgence to me quite like the combo of chocolate and mint – add being able to stay home and also caffeine to the mix? Pure magic. This Chocolate Mint Iced Coffee is not just incredibly simple to make at home, it’s topped with a heavenly mint cold foam that takes things to the next level. Think of it like a little dessert treat, a refreshing mint mouth vacation, and a sweet, sweet, caffeine pick-me-up all in one perfect little glass.
Whether you’re treating yourself in the afternoon or impressing guests with a homemade coffeehouse style drink, this minty creation will quickly become a favorite. Trust me, we went from 0-60 on this one so fast I ran out of chocolate syrup.
What You’ll Need
For the Iced Coffee:
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee or cold brew, chilled
- 2-3 teaspoons chocolate syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice
- ½ tablespoon (1-2 pumps using these handy pumps!) peppermint syrup
- Mint Cold Foam to top it off
- Milk frother or handheld whisk
How to Make It
- Make the Base Coffee:
Add the chocolate syrup to the bottom of your glass or mug. Brew a cup of strong coffee over the top, and then use a frother or whisk to combine the too. The warmth of the coffee will make this process much easier to fully dissolve, but with a little extra time (highly suggest this milk frother for the job) you can mix with your favorite cold brew too. If using fresh brewed coffee, chill. Add a pump or two of peppermint syrup (this is our favorite!). Pour over ice in a tall glass. *My favorite way to be a little extra with this drink is to drizzle the inside of the glass with chocolate syrup prior to pouring in the coffee base.*
- Whip Up the Mint Cold Foam:
Now technically, the base coffee is already pretty darn good and chocolate minty, but this cold foam is what pushes it over the top. Super simple to make as well – check out our recipe here. - Top & Serve:
Spoon/pour the mint cold foam over your chocolate mint iced coffee. Garnish with chocolate shavings, mint leaves, or another drizzle of chocolate syrup if you’re feeling fancy.

Tips & Variations
- Make it dairy-free: Use oat milk or almond milk for both the iced coffee and the cold foam.
- Sweeten to taste: Adjust the sweetness depending on your chocolate syrup and how sweet you like your coffee.
- Batch it: Brew extra coffee ahead of time and store it in the fridge to make this iced drink anytime.
What to Pair It With
This chocolate mint iced coffee is a treat all on its own, but it pairs beautifully with:
- Chocolate chip muffins
- Mint brownies or cookies
- A simple butter croissant or shortbread cookie
- Fresh fruit or berries for a lighter touch
Whether you’re a year-round iced coffee lover or just looking to cool off with something sweet, this Chocolate Mint Iced Coffee topped with Mint Cold Foam is an easy, delicious way to elevate your coffee game. Give it a try and let me know your favorite season to enjoy it!
